Shannon Proulx is the Employee of the Month of May
“Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.” - Vince Lombardi
Shannon Proulx, LPN in RiverView Health’s Internal Medicine Department, and Dr. Bosun Fashoro know what teamwork is all about. Together, the two make running one of RiverView’s busiest practices look easy. For her role in this dynamic duo, Shannon was recently named the Employee of the Month of May.
While in high school, Shannon started her RiverView career working in the dietary department, while also working at the Villa. After getting her LPN, Shannon worked at Glenmore Recovery (now RiverView Recovery Center) for about five years before starting her current role in RiverView’s Crookston Clinic. Even after starting in the clinic, she continued to work weekends at Glenmore for a few more years. She recently marked her 18th anniversary with RiverView.
A Crookston native and resident, Shannon and her significant other, Nate Magsam, have a blended family of Katelyn, 18; Kamryn, 16; Ethan, 24, his wife Nissa, and their son Cullen; Kailee, 19; and their dog, Nelly. The family has a cabin on Island Lake where Shannon loves spending time and fulfills a portion of her dream of living on a lake full-time. She enjoys spending time with family, ice fishing (her favorite), running, and walking Nelly in her free time.
Of her EOM honor, she said: “I was very surprised, it was so unexpected. I love working at RiverView and am so fortunate to work with some of the best nurses and doctors. I am so grateful to work with Dr. Fashoro every day. I have learned so much over the years and have the best teacher.”
The following are some of the comments given in Shannon’s honor: Shannon is very attentive and detailed with patient needs. She receives high patient satisfaction scores and has a superior level of competence in her skills. We receive consistent feedback from her coworkers and providers on her high level of performance. Patient praises are abundant for Shannon and Dr. Fashoro, how they work as a team, and the high level of compassion and excellent care they provide.
I would like to nominate Shannon for Employee of the Month for her longevity, consistency, and diligent dedication to RiverView Health. Shannon is very passionate in her nursing role working alongside Dr. Fashoro in an extremely busy Internal Medicine practice. Shannon goes above and beyond on a daily basis for patients to make sure needs are met, questions are answered and care is coordinated. Shannon always has a smile on her face and a warm greeting for our patients and anyone in passing. She is always willing to help her coworkers and share her knowledge and expertise to help all patients. Shannon works very steady and focused and is extremely dependable.
