Services
The Infusion services nursing staff administers prescribed treatments directly into a patient’s bloodstream via a needle or catheter. Examples may include:
- Antibiotic infusions
- Blood transfusions
- Inflixamab (Remicade) infusions
- Intravenous (IV) fluids
- Intramuscular (IM) and Subcutaneous (Subq) injections
- Iron infusions
Who Can Receive Care
You do not need to receive your specialty care at RiverView Health to receive infusion services here. Outside referrals are welcome, and a RiverView provider will review them.
Location
Scheduled infusions are completed on weekdays from 8:00-4:15 in the outpatient procedure area. Patients should check in at the Main Entrance.
For situations that require special circumstances, such as weekends, infusions are administered in the emergency department or inpatient setting. Patients should check in at the Emergency Entrance.
