RiverView’s Employee of the Month of August is Craig Hruby
Craig Hruby, a RiverView Health Plant Services maintenance technician, is a jack-of-all-trades. He is credited with saving the organization money on outside vendors because he has the skills to get important jobs done without outside help. As a bonus, Craig does it all with a positive attitude. Craig is RiverView’s Employee of the Month (EOM) of August for all of these reasons and more.
A Thief River Falls native who moved to Crookston in 2015, Craig, has worked at RiverView for nearly five years. Before RiverView, Craig worked as an electrician for six years.
Craig and wife Megan, a Crookston native who works for the University of Minnesota Extension, have three children: Jimmy, 11; Eden, 8; and Trigg, 5. The family resides in Crookston.
“I’m very grateful to even be considered for this award, let alone actually receive it,’’ he said of the EOM honor. “I’ve never worked anywhere that had awards for employees like RiverView does, so I’ve never gotten anything like this before; this was a complete, absolute shock. It’s nice to be considered by others for such a thing.
“Our department has a really good bunch of people. It’s a good team,’’ he went on to say. “Everyone has their specialty, but we all mesh really well together. We learn a lot from each other, and everyone has a lot of patience, which is important, too.’’
The following is a portion of a nomination in Craig’s honor: “Craig constantly goes above and beyond his job requirements to complete tasks that we have previously had to hire vendors to complete. Many know that he is an electrician, and since he has came here he has taken on many tasks in that field that were previously completed by vendors. In addition to that, he also has taken on small flooring projects as well, which in the past was completed by vendors. Craig has taken the initiative to complete several lengthy projects, such as LED light conversion, and converting the existing building to the new clock system as well. Craig is constantly taking on new responsibilities and keeps a positive attitude while doing it.
“Craig works hard each day he is here and continues to go above and beyond for our team and the facility. He deserves recognition for this.’’
