Pam Stainbrook is RiverView’s Employee of the Month of November
Pam Stainbrook is known for bringing a positive vibe and a little spice to RiverView’s Inpatient Unit, where she works as a HUC/CNA. Because of her fun and compassionate attributes, she’s also known as the November Employee of the Month.
Born and raised in Crookston, Pam began working at RiverView’s Care Center in 1989 as a CNA, back when there was a 100-bed census, she shared. In 1994, she joined Adult Day Care and worked in Activities, a job she remembers as fun and rewarding. She fondly recalled riding the bus to pick up clients in the community. It was December 2011 when she joined the Inpatient Unit in her current position.
Pam and husband Dale have two children, Lorne and Landon, and two grandchildren, Destiny and Eian. In her free time, Pam enjoys music, reading, and canoeing in the summer.
“I am proud to be a RiverView Health employee,” she shared.
The following comments were given in Pam’s honor: Pam Stainbrook has been a consistent high performer on the IPU/ED Team. When it comes to needing to get the job done, Pam excels. She is always willing to do things to help our patients and her teammates.
Pam is kind, and shows great compassion to our patients. Recently we had a challenging patient over several days. Pam was the dedicated safety companion. Pam not only kept this very high risk for falls patient safe her entire stay, she would rub their back, talk softly to them and ensure they had all their meals and plenty of snacks. Other staff that cared for this patient were emotionally drained and their time was intermittent, yet Pam spent hours and hours a day to care for this patient.
Pam has a special place in her heart for patients that struggle with challenges in their lives, may it be self-inflicted or a medical diagnosis. Pam brings fun spice to the team as well. Pam is one that we can count on to say what we all think sometimes, but she only does it to lighten the mood and keep a positive vibe.
Pam never says “that’s not my job,’’ if help is needed in SDS, ED or anywhere else; she gladly rises to the need and accomplishes the task with a smile on her face. This organization, our patients, and myself, as her supervisor, are all blessed to have an employee such as Pam.
