Nutrition Services Ramp Up with Hiring of Dietitian Rachel Rudolph
Rachel Rudolph, MS, RDN, LD, recently joined RiverView Health and is excited to help patients of all ages with nutrition-related issues.
A native of Fort Wayne, IN, Rudolph earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. She previously worked as an inpatient clinical dietitian in West Virginia, primarily in intensive care units, where she managed nutrition support for patients on ventilators. She also covered several other units, including pediatrics and labor and delivery. Throughout her career, Rudolph has worked with a diverse range of disease states, such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and kidney disease.
“I love food and have always been interested in nutrition,” she shared when asked why she became a dietitian. “I knew I wanted to work in healthcare, so becoming a dietitian was a perfect fit.
“I am very much a people person so I love getting to chat with patients and help them realize that nutrition doesn’t have to be a scary topic. I am a firm believer that you can make all foods fit into your life in a healthy way.”
Rudolph’s professional interests include pregnancy, breastfeeding, and pediatrics, as nutrition plays a crucial role in healthy growth and development.
The Rudolph family moved to Crookston from southern Ohio about a year and a half ago as Rudolph’s husband began teaching as a professor at the University of Minnesota-Crookston. The couple has a 4-year-old son, a 4-month-old daughter, and two black cats. Outside of work, Rudolph’s favorite activity is baking in her free time, especially as the weather starts to get cooler.
