Lucia Swenson is the Employee of the Month of September
Lucia Swenson has dedicated 46 years to RiverView Health, beginning her career at the Glenmore Treatment Center and currently working as a Home Health Customized Living CNA at Oak Court Apartments in Crookston.
“It’s sometimes challenging,” she says of her work, “but in a good way. If you work hard, things work out.”
Clearly, Lucia’s hard work has paid off, as she was recently surprised by her “very sneaky” team with the September Employee of the Month honor.
Lucia has lived in Crookston her entire life. She and her husband, Dennis, have three children: Sarah, Phillip, and Eric, and seven grandchildren. Lucia finds joy in gardening and canning, sharing the fruits of her labor with anyone who is interested. Another of her favorite pastimes is walking her dog, Buttercup, whom she fondly refers to as the “Master of the House.” She also enjoys spending time with her sisters and family.
Regarding her Employee of the Month award, she stated, “I am very honored. I love working with my team and take great pride in being a part of RiverView for all these years.”

Lucia consistently goes above and beyond in her role, providing compassionate, high-quality care to our clients. Her deep commitment to their well-being is evident in every interaction, and her positive attitude brings comfort and joy to those she serves.
She has worked through many difficult staffing times, yet continues to show up with a sense of humor, a spirit of resilience, and a deep appreciation for her coworkers. Her ability to remain positive and supportive during challenging moments is truly inspiring.
She goes above and beyond everyday she works by always being willing to take on extra tasks without being asked, offering to pick up any hours that we have to fill, volunteering her time to do something special for her coworkers and clients etc. With new challenges that we are assigned she faces them head on and always succeeds and does a great job.
You never see her sitting down she is always on the go doing something that isn't expected. She is always willing to give her coworkers a helping hand...She does all of these things because she truly cares about working for RiverView and cares so much for her clients and coworkers. She does it all without expecting a Thank You.
