It’s been a few years since the Exceptional People Exceptional Care (EPEC) award has been given. Dedication to exceptional patient care, however, has not stopped. Patients continue to sing the praises of staff members going above and beyond to provide unmatched care. So, guess what? The EPEC award is back, and there’s no better team member to recognize than Linda Nephew who has been providing exceptional care since she joined the organization in June of 2000. Currently, Linda works as a triage RN in the Clinics.

Linda was one of the superstars of the COVID-19 testing days. Many comments came in from patients regarding her gentle touch. Below are just some of the comments given in the past few years regarding the care Linda provides:

• Linda, the COVID hotline nurse, did outstanding from the first call to the actual test and subsequent results.
• Linda is amazing. Such a great attitude and perfect patient approach for an awkward test. Thank you for caring for me.
• Linda Nephew was the nurse that took my COVID test. And I explained to her, when I first got there, how I had anxiety about the test. Because the first experience I had was not good. And she was so patient and understanding, and took the time to talk with me, even though they were obviously very busy with testing. She was very gentle. And I had no problem having that test done. It was a completely different experience. Thank you.
• Linda went out of her way to get in contact with me and keep me updated on the testing process all while being patient and cheery! She was wonderful in the not so fun process of COVID and strep testing.
• Linda Nephew is a WONDERFUL, sweet nurse!
• Having Linda Nephew take my COVID sample really put me at ease. She is very kind and explained everything well.
• Linda Nephew is an angel. She really is passionate about what she does. She should be employee of the month every month of this pandemic.
• I worked with Linda in the COVID testing area. She was so kind and put me at ease when I shared my concerns with testing. She explained things very well and her demeanor and care was outstanding!
