Lily Ngwe is RiverView’s Employee of the Month of June

Hospital news | Monday, July 29, 2024

Liliane (Lily) Ngwe is RiverView Health’s June Employee of the Month for many reasons. While she’s only been with RiverView’s Rehab Services and Home Care for less than two years as a physical therapy assistant, she’s significantly impacted her patients and team members.

So many nominations were given in Lily’s honor, yet perhaps one nomination summed it up best: “Lily’s positive attitude brightens up the room. We need more of that!’’

Lily calls Grand Forks her “home away from home’’ after living there for ten years. She is originally from Cameroon, a small country in Central Africa on the Gulf of Guinea. She and her husband, Asaah, have three children: Alerick (7), Karissa (5), and Ziya (2). In her free time, Lily loves gardening, spending time with family, and volunteering at church.

“This (employee of the month) came totally unexpected and I am grateful and honored to be found worthy of this,’’ she shared. “RiverView has been a great place to work, and my coworkers are just exceptional people who make working here enjoyable. Leaders genuinely care about your well-being as a person, and this has marked me greatly. The culture is family-oriented and so inviting, and you cannot but strive to align with its mission and produce the best results for our people.

“RiverView has molded me in a different way, and I have learned a lot from the opportunities that have been made possible by leaders and coworkers. It’s an honor, and I take it with a heart full of gratitude.’’

The following are just a few of the comments submitted in Lily’s honor: She has been an incredible addition to the Rehab Services and Home Care teams, which has been proven through numerous patient compliments, staff recognitions, and direct observation of Lily’s outstanding patient care. In fact, Lily has been individually recognized on the Outstanding Care Board many times. Some of these recognitions include: • Thank you for taking the initiative with all our Home Care patients. When I ask for help or ask you to do something you already have it covered. You make my life easy and I appreciate you! • Thanks for being an amazing colleague. Thank you for being able to take charge with our patients and complete necessary adjustments that need to be made! Your flexibility and willingness to help makes my job and life easier. • Huge kudos to Lily. She makes my work life a lot easier and our patients love her! Since joining the RiverView team, Lily has demonstrated excellence in communication, exercising initiative, ownership of tasks, and teamwork. She has gone above and beyond the requirements of her role...I have witnessed Lily discuss both celebratory and difficult topics with an exceptional amount of respect and grace that leads to optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction...Our team is better because of her...Lily is a dedicated and hard worker that does the best work for her patients...Lily is always happy, positive, and smiling. Lily is frequently mentioned and recognized by home health clients for the excellent care she provides. Just today a client described Lily as ‘Great. There was just something about her. Not only is she great at what she does, she was just special.’
