The mother of a young RiverView patient recently wrote how appreciative she is of the services available through the Diagnostic Imaging Department and how much Leann Kawlewski, Patient Access representative in the department, has helped her and her son with appointments. Therefore, Leann is the latest EPEC (Exceptional People Exceptional Care) award recipient.

The following are comments made by the patient’s mother: Just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your radiology department. We have never switched back to Fargo since we did an MRI with you guys back in 2021. Leann is the best and we just love her. Just wanted to share with you as there aren’t many radiology departments that are thriving now days but your crew continues to be top notch.

She (Leann) always goes above and beyond. I just got some of my son’s results back from an ultrasound we had you guys do on Wednesday afternoon and a 4cm mass was identified in his liver. An MRI was then recommended. They called from Fargo and said we can get him in for an MRI. I told them, ‘NO, we don’t use you guys anymore for imaging. My son does all imaging in Crookston at RiverView, so if you could please get the orders sent over to them and let Leann know the orders, she will take care of it from there.’

I quickly called Leann and gave her the heads up that orders should be coming. She right away said, ‘Perfect I’ll keep an eye out but if it gets to be longer than a week let’s touch base and make sure they aren’t hung up anywhere. Otherwise, as soon as I get them I’ll give you the call so we can get him in.’

Every time, she calls us as soon as authorization clears and usually has us in within 48 hours. Many times, if my son is having a tough morning or in one instance we had to stop on the road as he gets insane bloody noses since his last surgery, Leann handles our change in schedule and gets things sorted at RiverView so we can still get his imaging done. She always finds a way to accommodate us. She is just the best.
