Karla Steinbrink, RN, Customized Living coordinator for Home Care, was recently awarded the Exceptional People Exceptional Care (EPEC) Award for her compassion, listening ear, and timely, life-saving coordination of care.

A Home Care client shared that he had plans to end his life and was planning to follow through with those plans when his “med nurse” came to check on him. He felt open to sharing his plans with her and she stayed with him and arranged for the next steps to get the acute mental wellness care that he needed.
