Jennifer Tate has spent the last 25 years leading RiverView’s Environmental Services (EVS) Team in maintaining a safe and clean environment.

As director, she’s seen changes in industry standards, staffing, facilities, and more. Yet, one thing has remained the same: RiverView patients and co-workers have always been at the top of the list of things she enjoys most about her job.

“I have made lasting friendships within this organization,” she shared. “We hire people with compassion, humility and integrity. Who wouldn’t want them to be your friends?”

Just Like Family

Witnessing quality patient experiences and connections between patients and those caring for them never gets old.

“I feel as an organization, we take care of our patients as they are our family. I love watching how our teams build relationships with our patients.

“I marvel every day how our patients come to us vulnerable and trust we will take care of them. I have had the opportunity to experience healthcare at many different organizations, and none of them come close to the care given at RiverView.

Continuously Improving

Some days are more challenging than others due to staffing shortages and unexpected hurdles. However, Jennifer credits her team’s ability to roll with the punches.

“I am blessed to work with an incredible EVS team. When faced with adversity, they not only survive, they thrive. I have been a manager for 36 years and every year I feel my team gets better and better.”
