Janeen Brule Receives Exceptional People, Exceptional Care Award
Janeen Brule has worked in RiverView’s Diagnostic Imaging Department for the past 22+ years providing life-saving mammograms to area women.
Her kind, compassionate service has made her one of the most praised RiverView team members in patient surveys. However, Janeen doesn’t take the praise personally; she’ll be the first to tell you it isn’t about her, it’s about the team. Well, this time it is about her, because Janeen was recently honored with the Exceptional People Exceptional Care award thanks to the praises of one of her patients.
The information below was submitted in Janeen’s honor by a patient:
RiverView has an unsung hero disguised as a mammogram tech. I have a strong family history of breast cancer with two of my sisters being diagnosed at 30 and 50. Because of this, I have had yearly mammograms since I was 35. I always knew Janeen Brule was incredible, but recent events made me realize to what extent.
In September, I had my annual mammogram. As always Janeen made the experience as comfortable as she could. She remembers all of her patients and asks about their families. Every single patient she sees is treated as family. This may sound strange but I don’t mind mammograms because I get to see Janeen.
The results came back with an area of concern. I had to return to have two more mammograms and an ultrasound. During those mammograms Janeen showed so much compassion and offered encouragement. Although RiverView wasn’t able to do my biopsy, Janeen assured me Sanford was a wonderful organization and would take excellent care of me. She gave me a hug and said they will find the answer. I left RiverView’s Imaging Department with peace because of Janeen. She is truly an angel. RiverView is beyond blessed to have her as an employee.
