Brenda Ranum is February’s Employee of the Month
There is no higher compliment at RiverView Health than one from a patient or the patient’s family member. Recently, Brenda Ranum, Patient Access coordinator in Admitting, was praised by a patient’s family member for exceptional service. Her co-workers also recognized her for going above and beyond in her daily work. All of those shout-outs make Brenda RiverView’s Employee of the Month for February.
The family member called to thank the many individuals who saved his loved one’s life and specifically acknowledged Brenda for her compassion and patience during an extremely difficult time.
Brenda exemplifies how every team member at RiverView makes a difference in the lives of patients and their families and the organization’s mission to provide exceptional care.
“I enjoy my job, love interacting with patients and co-workers,” she shared. “I am very much a people person and enjoy when I can make somebody’s experience a little brighter.
“It has been a wonderful experience working at RiverView. I feel that the staff is encouraging and friendly. I am very appreciative to be a part of the RiverView family.”
A Crookston-area native, Brenda has worked at RiverView for three years. In her free time, she enjoys all summer outdoor activities with her son and spending time working in her yard.
The following comments were taken from nominations in Brenda’s honor: Brenda displays the spirit, energy and patient focus we would want to see in every RiverView colleague. Brenda always gives patients a warm greeting and total attention during check-in. She makes sure our smallest patients have new toys, coloring books, and stuffed animals to reduce their stress in the hospital.
Brenda pays attention to details and keeps the Admission area stocked and always helps make corrections in the Epic work queues. Brenda gives every patient her attention and compassion. I can always count on Brenda to provide great service and represent the RiverView Health brand.
Brenda is always willing to help if needed, she greets every patient with a smile and goes the extra mile when needed. She will take time and walk a patient to where they need to be if they are unsure. Brenda is an excellent resource of knowledge as a coworker, she takes the time to teach you if you have questions.
She is thoughtful and caring and shows compassion to all. She did my training when I was first hired and I am forever grateful. Brenda is open to new ideas and suggestions and also is very willing to listen.
