Paige Tice is RiverView’s October Employee of the Month

Hospital news | Friday, January 3, 2020

Paige Tice, Home Care, says she feels appreciated at her job at RiverView Health every day. Obviously, her coworkers appreciate her, as well, as they recently nominated her to her recent win as Employee of the Month for October.

A Hartford, SD, native, Tice has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD. She’s worked in the Home Care Department for five years. In that time, she’s served as RN case manager, RN customized living coordinator, RN clinical coordinator and since November 2017 in her current position as RN Home Care
coordinator.

Paige and husband Corey live in Fertile. Corey works for Garden Valley out of Erskine. They have a one-and-a-half-year-old named Cohen and are expecting a second baby in May. Paige and Corey enjoy the outdoors; going on a lot of fishing trips. Their most recently fishing adventure was in Canada lake trout fishing last summer. They also enjoy spending time with Cohen and their families.

“I am truly honored to be named Employee of the Month for RiverView Health,’’ Tice shared. “I enjoy working for this organization and feel appreciated every day. I am always being pushed to learn and grow in my role. I have a great team of coworkers; our recent switch to EPIC has been a big change for our department and seeing everyone come together and learn this new system has been a great experience. I enjoy being able to meet with patients and/or families to discuss home care services, letting them know that these services are available to them in what can be difficult times for them. It is so great to see the impact our staff make on these patients and I am proud to be a part of a team with them and honored that they have recognized me as an employee of the month!’’

Below are just a few of the comments given in Tice’s honor:

“Paige sets as an example of professionalism every day as she assists staff in their questions and troubleshoots issues. As a leader and go-to-person, everyone on the Home Care team looks to her for help and respects her knowledge. She’s calm and patient no matter how busy she is, setting aside her own tasks to take time to help everyone and anyone. This has been especially evident throughout our process of transitioning to EPIC for our client charting system. When asked to take on the role as a Super Trainer, Paige didn’t hesitate a bit and has embraced the whole process as a true advocate.’’ -Gladys Bakken, Home Care

“Paige typically has a line up at her door as she is always the first stop for questions/help needed. Her door is always open and she is always willing to help in any way that she can. She is always patient and kind and never becomes flustered or at least doesn’t show it :) Part of her job includes making the schedule which for any department is not easy but in-home care, our days are ever-changing with client requests, staff illness, new referrals, etc. She communicates the need for the changes effectively and doesn’t let these things rattle her which they easily could! She has been an essential member of our team and especially during our transition over to EPIC which was/is a huge process. She is so knowledgeable and has been so helpful as I learn the ropes of this. She steps into other roles without batting an eye and often without even needing to be asked...Paige is an asset to our team and I can’t imagine what home care would be like without her!’’ - Paige Pietruszewski, Home Care
