Hospital news | Monday, December 23, 2019

Patient Access Representative Katelyn Bolz is known for greeting patients with a warm, friendly smile. Now, after being awarded the September Employee of the Month honor, she’s got even more to smile about.

Bolz, a Fergus Falls, MN, native, has worked at RiverView for four years. She and husband Mike and daughters, Lexy (16) and Jordyn (11) live in Erskine. In her free time, she likes to go camping with her family and spend time at the lake.

Of her Employee of the Month honor, Bolz said: “I just would like to thank everyone who nominated me for all the kind words. I truly love every aspect of my job from the moment I walk through the door. I am so happy I was given the chance to be a part of RiverView. RiverView is an amazing team to be a part of!’’

Below are some of the comments from nominations in Bolz’ honor:

“Katelyn has gone above and beyond in many different ways, but one way that stands out to me the most is a personal experience when Katelyn had trained me to be a Patient Access Rep. She took extra time to ensure that I was capable of doing all aspects of my job. She got to know me on a personal level and helped to make RiverView feel like home. Katelyn has switched many of her shifts with mine so that I am able to attend my children’s events; in which I am very thankful for. Katelyn helps many patients all day and she always greets each one with a smile. I firmly believe that our patients who come to the RiverView North Clinic enjoy checking in with Katelyn and talking with her. She shows patients empathy and gives them the attention that they deserve.’’ - Sheena Kramer, Patient Access

“Katelyn has always been someone I look up to in our department. She is excellent with patients and puts smiles on their faces as soon as they walk through the door. She is very hard-working and always willing to help or answer questions. She is always willing to work longer days to help with community health clinics, such as the sports physical, prostate and flu shot clinics. She is our go-to person for any registration questions. If she does not know the answer, she will try her hardest to help you find it.’’ - Kayse Mix, Patient Access

“Katelyn is always willing to help others, always has an amazing attitude, and is patient when it comes to helping out with questions. Katelyn is always willing to step up and take care of things that aren’t on the usual to-do list. She seems to have a smile on her face at all times, and never says no to a task. Katelyn has been an outstanding
co-worker to work with and has the knowledge to do her job very well, and has made it easy to learn the tasks to fulfill the requirements of the job.” - Kyrstan Thormodsgard, Patient Access
