A Matter of Balance classes in EGF
RiverView Health Rehab Services will be holding “A Matter of Balance’’ classes for anyone who has fallen in the past, has restricted activities because of falling concerns or is worried about falls. The classes will teach skills in improving balance, flexibility and strength.
“A Matter of Balance’’ is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. Eight two-hour sessions will be led by certified coaches each Wednesday, April 6th through May 25th from 1 pm – 3 pm at the East Grand Forks Senior Center, 538 Rhinehart Drive SE, East Grand Forks.

Effective Communication Strategies for Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease, community education
The RiverView Care Center will host “Effective Communication Strategies’’, Tuesday, June 28th, in Meeting Room 4, from 6 to 7:30 PM.
This session is designed to provide practical information and resources to help dementia caregivers learn to decode verbal and behavioral messages from people with dementia. The goals of the program are for participants to better understand the changes in communication that occur with the disease progression and how they manifest in the person with dementia, and to be able to identify ways to connect at each stage of the disease.
