Dr. Kim has extensive experience in spine surgery, having performed over 5000 cases of spine surgery of various complexities over the last 16 years. He routinely performs cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and spinal deformity surgeries, as well as interventional spinal injections.
Dr. Kim received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and earned his medical degree at the University of Chicago. He completed internships in general surgery and internal medicine before completing his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Columbia University in New York. Dr. Kim became certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1991. He also completed a spine surgery fellowship in Minneapolis and was certified by the American Board of Spine Surgery in 1999. Dr. Kim has been practicing at the Central Minnesota Spine Center in Alexandria since 2002.
