Medical-physical tests that are job-specific. Screens are used with new employees to assist in proper and safe placement on the job. Performed only after an offer of employment. Final job security is contingent upon safely passing the screen.
3 Step process to set up the screens:
job analysis to obtain critical physical demands
functional job description developed from job analysis
screen developed from functional job description (validated by employer)
Screens include education on proper posture and body mechanics
Prework screens inform the employer as to whether the individual is safely able to perform the essential job functions
