Dr. Judson L. Crow, a plastic surgeon with a practice in Grand Forks for the last 18 years, affiliated with RiverView Health in June 2004. Dr. Crow’s office is located in the RiverView Clinic in East Grand Forks. He performs surgical procedures at RiverView Hospital in Crookston and also sees patients at RiverView Clinic-Crookston.
Dr. Crow specializes in aesthetic (or cosmetic) surgery, which is performed to reshape normal structures of the body to improve the patient’s appearance and self esteem.
He has seen demand for aesthetic surgery increase in recent years. Botox injections, dermabrasion skin care, abdominoplasty and liposuction are among procedures that are on the rise. More specific aesthetic surgery is also in demand. For example, instead of having a general facelift, patients may request a forehead lift, blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), or rhinoplasty (nose reshaping). Dr. Crow has always been progressive in his practice. He was the first plastic surgeon in the state to perform the open rhinoplasty and did the first rectus abdominus flap (breast reconstruction using abdominal skin) in
Fargo. He also does mastopexy, a breast lift that doesn¹t involve placing implants in the breast.
Dr. Crow is board certified in plastic surgery and general surgery. He is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, and a member of the American Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
Since 1986, Dr. Crow has had an active medical practice in Grand Forks where he was associated with Altru Health Systems. Prior to that, he was in private practice in Fargo from 1982-1986, at Boulder, CO, from 1978-1982, and at San Antonio, TX, from 1976-78. He graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine and completed residencies in plastic surgery at the University of Tennessee and City of Memphis Hospitals from 1973 to 1975 and at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1972.
Dr. Crow represented his country as a general surgeon and Commander in the U. S. Navy, serving in Japan, Vietnam, New Zealand and Antarctica. His primary interest is aesthetic, or cosmetic surgery. He also has extensive experience in all areas of trauma related to both general and plastic surgery.
