Dr. Mirza Basit Baig joined RiverView’s Medical Staff November of 2000 and an internal medicine physician. Beginning in 2004, Dr. Baig became an employee of RiverView Health, and his practice with RiverView focused on the treatment of intestinal and color problems and advanced liver disease. Dr. Baig is a native of Pakistan and received college degrees in medicine and surgery from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. His two-year internship in general medicine and general surgery was completed at Civil Hospital Karachi. He completed a three-year residency in internal medicine at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Baig completed fellowships in gastroenterology and hepatology through Chicago Medical School and Harvard Medical School, receiving three years of training in these specialized areas.
