In recognition of the time and efforts Thomas C. Lenertz provided to the establishment and advancement of the RiverView Foundation, its Board of Directors established the Lenertz Family Healthcare Scholarship.  As one of RiverView Foundation's original founders in 1990, Mr. Lenertz was instrumental in all development stages of the RiverView Foundation. As Riverview Healthcare Association CEO, he continued to serve the Foundation as an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors until his December, 2000 retirement.


Application Guidelines

  • Scholarship is restricted to residents of RiverView Healthcare Association's service area that includes Crookston and other communities within a 30 mile radius of the RiverView Health hospital.

  • Applicant must be enrolled, or give intention to enroll, in a post secondary healthcare field of study at a certified post secondary or higher institution.

  • Priority will be given to applicants pursuing a degree in healthcare management.

  • A stipend of $500 will be awarded to each year's scholarship recipient. The check will be mailed directly to the institution of the recipient's choice. The recipient will receive the stipend through the financial aide office of that institution. It is to be applied toward the cost of tuition or related educational expenses.

  • Recipient may re-apply annually.

To apply, submit the Lenertz Family Healthcare Scholarship Application for the 2013-2014 Academic Year, along with a copy of your current transcript and two short (one-page) letters of recommendation to:

The deadline for applications is noon, March 21, 2013.

The RiverView Foundation Board of Directors will review and evaluate the scholarship applications.  Applications will be judged on demonstrated personal commitment of the applicant to his/her specified healthcare field of study, and on how the granting of the scholarship will contribute to healthcare. The Foundation office will notify the recipient. The scholarship award check issue date will be arranged between the RiverView Foundation office and the recipient.
