RiverView Foundation, the fundraising arm of RiverView Health, hosted their fifth annual golf tournament on Monday, June 8th at Minakwa Golf Course in Crookston. The tournament raised over $22,000 in profits, which have been designated by the RiverView Foundation board of Directors to support the renovation of the RiverView Hospital intensive care/coronary care and inpatient floor.
The Crookston National Bank/John and Ruth Reese team of Adam Maruska, John Reese, Tim Moe, Laura Morgan, and Kent Bruun won the tournament.
“As RiverView’s Foundation Director, I want to sincerely thank all the tournament sponsors, players and contributors for making the 2009 Golf Classic such a huge success,” said RiverView Foundation Director Kent Bruun. The net proceeds were the largest raised in the five year history of the event. “Even with less than ideal weather, we had a record number of golfers participate” added Bruun.
This year’s tournament had six corporate sponsors: Alltel Business Solutions, Glen and Marlys Finkinbinder, Hanratty & Associates, Hugo’s, New Horizon Foods, and Universal Hospital Services. “These six committed supporters played a major role in making the event a successful one for the Foundation and the community,” added Bruun.
Jason King won the men’s grand prize Nike SUMO driver and Jodi Dragseth won the women’s grand prize TaylorMade 460 driver, both donated by the Craig and Linda Morgan family.
The sixth annual Golf Classic has been set for June 7, 2010.
