JoAn Bittner was elected to RiverView's board in 2002. Jo is the director of Polk County DAC, where she has been employed since 1985. She has an undergraduate degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and taught elementary school in various communities after graduation from college. She later received her master's degree in special education administration and early childhood from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. She has been the executive director at the Polk County DAC since 1993. JoAn is a native of Red Wing, Minnesota but has been a resident of Crookston for 17 years. Her husband, Jon, teaches at Crookston High School and they have three young sons.
I have always been impressed with the services Riverview has provided to me and my family, states Bittner. I am thrilled to see Riverview moving forward with hiring new doctors, adding specialty areas, receiving critical access and the building project. I believe our hospital is pivotal for the success of our town.
