Dr. Erik Kanten

Dr. Erik Kanten was appointed to Riverview's board of directors in November, 2000 to fill the vacant seat of board member Sharon Lembke, who resigned in October. He and his wife, Judie, have lived in Crookston since 1988, when Dr. Kanten joined Altru-Clinic Crookston, then called Northwestern Clinic. He attended undergraduate school at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota and medical school at the University of Minnesota. He attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks for his residency in family practice and became board certified in family practice in July of 1988. His practice with Altru Clinic-Crookston includes obstetrics, pediatrics and care of adults of all ages. He sees patients not only in the clinic in Crookston, but also spends time in the Altru Clinic sites in Erskine, Fertile and Red Lake Falls. Judie and he have four daughters and his personal hobbies are woodworking and flying airplanes.
